Karen Lopez

Karen López is a New York City native with deep Dominican roots. She grew up in the city but spent every summer of her childhood in the Dominican Republic, and the island kept calling her back. After studying economics at Syracuse University, she built a global career as a fashion editor and creative consultant, working with Condé Nast, Hearst Media, Stella McCartney and Christie’s, before making the Dominican Republic her permanent home.

For the past five years, Karen has helped clients buy and invest in Las Terrenas and the Samaná Peninsula, with a focus on high-ROI investment properties. Her economics training means she looks at the numbers first: pricing, rental potential and long-term value. Her creative eye lets her see what makes a property stand out to buyers, guests and future owners. Fluent in both English and Spanish, she guides international and local clients smoothly through every step.

Karen is also the founder of Artefacto, an art gallery and concept shop in Las Terrenas that showcases the best of Dominican talent. Her passion for local artists and design gives her a deep connection to the community and a rare insight into the town’s culture, style and growth.
